The Coordinator of Recreational Sports (RecSports) for Aquatics & Operations is primarily responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of hires, trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates student staff to manage the Student Recreation and Fitness Center (Student Rec), including a comprehensive aquatics program. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director for Aquatics & Operations and will support the department’s vision, goals, and objectives. The coordinator has significant contact and oversight of student staff and is responsible for setting clear expectations and holding staff accountable for policies, procedures, and guidelines. The Coordinator for Aquatics & Operations assists with the daily operations of Student Rec and aquatic facilities; and assists with compliance of procedures in facilities and risk management. The coordinator will collaborate with both internal and external groups as needed to complete the job responsibilities and support the Department of Recreational Sports.
Recruit, train, supervise, coach, mentor and evaluate student and other part-time staff.??
Plan and facilitate regular staff meetings and training sessions for assigned area including awareness and compliance with all University policies and procedures.
Communicate job responsibilities and expectations for student employees.
Program Management & Administration:?
Plan, develop, schedule, and implement assigned programming, assessing location-specific risk management, prepping equipment, and briefing student staff and participants as needed.
?Provides and maintains reports used in assessment of programmatic quality and goals.?
In tandem with Assistant Director, oversee Student Rec and aquatic facilities. Promote operating policies and procedures for use in assigned programs.
Financial, Administrative, & Other Duties as Assigned:
Work in tandem with Assistant Director to develop the operational budgets for unit.?
Monitor budgets throughout the year and assist with quarterly reporting.?
Maintain proper inventory records.?
Serve as an active member on committees, work teams, and other global efforts within the Department of Recreational Sports.

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
