The Community Services Director will be responsible for overseeing the community center, community events, community outreach, staff, operations, financial reporting and programs/services for the client company’s employees while exercising good judgment in providing excellent programs and customer service to the members. The Director acts as the primary liaison between the staff, the company, and the client company. Additionally, the position requires the Director to independently think and creatively control the development, implementation, and evaluation of ongoing innovative programming and find creative ways to welcome new community center members.
Qualifications
Education:
Degree in Parks & Recreation Management or comparable required
Certified Parks and Recreation Professional a plus
CPR and First Aid Certification required
Experience:
2-3 years’ experience in public recreation or any equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 2 years Supervisory or Management experience preferred
Other Requirements:
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other presentation applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task, work independently and with a team, and perform detail-oriented functions
Responsibilities
Oversee the supervision of membership, retail, swimming pools, fitness center, sports courts, and childcare within the community center
Manages the facility’s budget including forecasting and reporting
Responsible for hiring, coaching, and counseling of staff members
Oversee staff training and development
Develop and present monthly membership, participation, and financial information
Provide Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Report Information for Site.
Oversee the forecasting of realistic budgets for upcoming programs on a quarterly basis.
Accurately manage program supplies and inventory
Develop and maintain team goals and initiative
Coordinates special events, recreation programs, fitness programs, tournaments, and all events within the facility.
Ensure quality control and work with other key contacts to ensure that the best possible service is provided
Oversee and perform facility and equipment maintenance processes
Monitor the preventative maintenance program for facility/equipment
Oversee overall general facility appearance – bulletin boards, display cabinet, tennis courts, pool area, fitness room, magazine area, closets, walls, etc.
Develops and implements the marketing strategy for the facility using a variety of platforms
Provides administrative support by answering questions, maintaining correspondence with other partners; leads and schedules tours; interfaces with community groups, and actively promotes the facility throughout the community
Oversee the development and implementation of programs in all areas of the facility
Performs additional responsibilities as required.
