This is safety-focused, supervisory and business development position overseeing the operations of a County-managed public sport shooting facility. Work involves planning, directing and coordinating all aspects and functions of public target, trap, skeet, archery and sporting clay ranges along with a sport shooting related retail operation. An employee in this classification exercises considerable independent judgment in formulating objectives and procedures, and with ensuring the overall safety of firearms range operations. A considerable focus of this position is related to the safe, efficient and effective operation of the facility while increasing revenue generation.
Supervision is provided by review of program effectiveness, reports, conferences and observation of results obtained.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, Parks and Recreation or related field, plus four (4) years of business management experience to include two (2) years direct supervisory experience in a management and/or administrative capacity.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
Certification or ability to be certified as an instructor by the National Rifle Association, the United States Military, or unit of local government and possession of a valid Florida Driver's license at time of appointment.
