THE POSITION

We invite you to join the high performing team at the Town of Prescott Valley, serving as our Recreation Supervisor for Special Events within the Parks & Recreation Department. This position is responsible for organizing, implementing and evaluating programs, events and activities that promote recreational opportunities for residents and the general public.

In this position you will:     

·         Plan and manage town-wide special events.

·         Coordinate with a variety of vendors, performers, and contractors to ensure a seamless and high-quality event.

·         Oversee the special event budget and event equipment inventory.

·         Provide leadership during pre-event meetings, event setup, event facilitation, and event breakdown.

·         Manage scheduling of town staff and volunteers for the effective staffing and management of town-wide special events

·         Perform risk management tasks for all special event areas based on industry standards.

·         Ensure all stakeholders are aware of event details and are able to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.

·         Inspect and monitor day of event operations to assess event effectiveness and impact.

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Leisure Studies, Physical Education, Recreation or a closely related field with a minimum three (3) years’ experience in organized recreation, sports, or recreation administration. Direct experience as a team leader or supervisor within a municipal parks and recreation environment strongly preferred.

·         First Aid/CPR and AED Certification within six months of employment.

·         Skill in analyzing complex administrative information and issues, defining problems and evaluating alternatives, and recommending methods, procedures, and techniques for resolution of issues.

·         Skill in organizational and time management to prioritize duties to accomplish a high volume of work product while adapting to constant changes in priority.

·         Ability to work the allocated hours of the position and respond after hours as needed.

Compensation: 

The Town’s complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture. The Town package includes a health, dental and vision insurance plan, participation in the state retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation with town match up to 6%, vacation, holidays, and additional comprehensive benefits.

The salary range is $63,294.40 to $88,608.00.

The expected hiring range is $63,294.40 to $72,800.00.
