JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: This position works in tandem with a second Recreation Supervisor to plan, implement and supervise an array of recreation programs for youth, teens and families. The specific distribution of programs is determined in consultation with Department leadership. This position is responsible for the leadership of our Day Camp program which serves over 400 campers weekly throughout the summer. This position also plans and implements youth programming and provides support for city events. Responsibilities also include devising and implementing revenue generation strategies, research of program trends, identification of community needs and provision of high-quality customer service.
The City of Upper Arlington opened the Bob Crane Community Center in April. This is an exciting time to join our team as this position provides programming for and supports the operation of the Community Center.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Recreation, Sport Management, Public Relations, or a related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible related experience; or any combination of training, education, or experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: CPR certification; First Aid certification; Certified Parks and Recreation Professional desired; valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and the ability to maintain insurability under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.
