Description
The Events and Marketing Manager plans, organizes, and administers all HPRT special events, marketing and some programming for the citizens of Hardeeville and the surrounding areas. This role is responsible for promoting and executing large and small scale special events to include but not limited to Festival on Main, 4th off Main, Trunk or Treat, Earth Day, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Parade, Merry on Main, and more that enhance the quality of life in the community while managing the department's marketing efforts, to include but not limited to social media, website content, and promotional materials to include video and print. This position also serves as the Chief Branding Officer for HPRT, ensuring all recreation content maintains the integrity of the HPRT brand. The Events and Marketing Manager ensures that the Vision and Mission of the Hardeeville Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department are reflected in all events and programs. This role involves implementing the goals, procedures, and policies adopted by the City under the direction of the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism, ensuring they are carried through in all aspects of the position and its duties. This full-time position requires flexible hours and minimal travel.
Examples of Duties
Plans, organizes and administers special programs and community events. • Working with the community to develop new and innovative programing while seeking partnership opportunities for more community involvement and less duplication of services. • Plans and implements short, long term and annual goals, objectives, and strategies for programming and special event enhancement and growth. • Develops, communicates, and monitors policies, procedures, and standards for the PRT Department in accordance with national standards for all programs and events. • Oversees REC DESK community portal. • Maintains professional knowledge, skills, and development by attending seminars and training programs and reading trade and professional journals and publications while keeping special events, programs and marketing relevant for the time. • Assists in acting as a departmental liaison to public engagements, meetings, seminars and community groups or organizations. • Oversees the development and enhancements of flyers, registration forms, calendars, publications and marketing publications, posts, and or videos that promote the PRT departmental brand. • Marketing and advertising for City sponsored programs and events through PSAs and social media and marketing platforms • Performs other duties as requested
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in the field of Recreation, Marketing, Communication, Event Management, Public Relations, or a related field. Not required but preferred: Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) and Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) Certification
