The City of Columbia, Missouri Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a self-directed, team-oriented professional to serve as Recreation and Community Programs Superintendent over the Activity and Recreation Center and Aquatics. This role oversees operations of a 73,000 sq. ft. facility, supervises five (5) full-time staff, supports recruitment, training, and retention, manages budgets and program marketing, evaluates policies and procedures, coordinates facility use, and assists with department-wide events. Strong leadership, budget management, and interpersonal skills are essential for collaboration with staff, community partners, and stakeholders. Requires availability Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with varying evenings and weekends. Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) and Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certifications are preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field. 5-7 years of experience in related field. Valid driver's license.
