As part of the Rollins College Athletics, the Associate Director of Athletic Communications stewards the Rollins Athletics brand internally, on campus, and externally in the community. The role establishes marketing relationships and opportunities for athletics; create marketing plans for department and events; and align athletics plan with the entire college.
Communication Management
Write, edit, and disseminate news releases, and other department publications
Serve as head statistician for assigned sports
Serve as multimedia/social media director for assigned sports
Handle requests for information from media and general public for assigned sports
Ensure Rollins Athletics brand is maintained in print and online
Promote student-athletes for athletic and academic awards
Update NCAA, Sunshine State Conference and affiliate organizations through seasons
Primary contact for assigned sports
Primary graphic designer/coordinator of publications for all sports
Home Game Management
Responsible for hosting visiting team and media at all home events
Schedule staffing for home events of assigned sports
Staffing official table and press table at all home events for assigned sports
Provide game day programs, scripts and announcements for Public Address Announcer
Oversight of student workers and/or contract staff
Special Events
Assist with "Tommy Awards" at the end of the year banquet and other campus events
Assist with the Rollins Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony
Minimum Qualifications & Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Sports Management or related field
Three years experience in professional and/or collegiate athletics management and communications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance
Extensive knowledge of NCAA statistics practices
Ability to work within and maintain branding standards set by Rollins College Athletics
Knowledge of Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Premier, InDesign
Knowledge of multimedia (audio/visual broadcasting), social media, desktop publishing, and website applications
Work Environment:
Campus-based position working in an office/field environment
Flexible to ever changing schedule needs associated with sharing practice facilities
Ability to work many nights and weekends during the sport's season
