Parks, Recreation & Community Services Director
Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Redwood City (pop. 86,754) is the third largest city in San Mateo County. More than 30 unique parks, ten sports fields, a seasonal pool, a senior center, and five community centers are popular with the community. Reporting to the City Manager, the Director oversees a $22.85 million FY 2023-24 Department operating budget and 71.7 full-time equivalent employees. Department staff will welcome a leader who is a great listener and understands the challenges they face delivering a diverse array of services and programs while planning, building, and maintaining facilities and parks. Experience overseeing public art programs, coordinating safety net services, and more traditional parks and recreation responsibilities is desired.
