The city of Scottsdale's Community Services Division and WestWorld of Scottsdale are looking for an experienced leader to serve as WestWorld's new General Manager. WestWorld is a 386-acre award-winning special event and equestrian facility, recognized in 2020 as the League of Agriculture & Equine Centers "Facility of the Year." This position provides an exceptional professional opportunity to provide executive leadership and vision to the WestWorld team. The position contributes in a meaningful way to Scottsdale's character and economic vitality by serving a leading role in several of Scottsdale's most valued events, including the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction.
The WestWorld General Manager will be responsible for developing WestWorld's five-year strategic plan, coordinating the current WestWorld master planning process, and will oversee a wide range of current and future capital and infrastructure projects. In this highly visible role, WestWorld's General Manager will work closely with local, regional, and national event producers, partner with Scottsdale's Tourism & Events Department and Experience Scottsdale, negotiate and administer contracts, coordinate marketing, branding, and sponsorship activities, and provide ongoing leadership and development opportunities to WestWorld's diverse team. WestWorld's General Manager serves as the department head in the WestWorld Department, which is part of Scottsdale's Community Services Division.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution.
Seven years of highly responsible management experience in directing the operation and maintenance of a convention center, municipal community services department, or similar public assembly facility, to include organizing and directing the activities within a department, preparing and managing governmental budget and/or contract management and administration, and strategic planning.
Must have a minimum of five years of supervisory experience.
An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience may substitute for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
