The Recreation Supervisor is responsible for the management of daily operations and customer service in a 65,000 square foot recreation facility. Assist in establishing and communicating facility policies, procedures, and guidelines to staff and public. Assists in planning and implementing budgets for the facility. Knowledge of facility emergency procedures and emergency action plans. Manages sales of memberships and program registrations and maintains records. Ensures the proper training of all frontline staff in customer service and emergency protocols. Hire, schedule, and supervise staff of full time and part time employees. Responsible for long term contracts with outside organizations for facility specific rentals. Knowledge of operational aspects of building security and sound systems. Assist with maintenance of facilities and equipment. This position will also supervise, develop, and evaluate Recreation Center programs, classes and activities for all age groups and interests. In addition, oversee all contract employees including group fitness instructors, personal trainers, non-traditional class instructors. Other related duties assigned by Superintendent, Assistant Director, or Director.

Manages the personnel, equipment, facilities, and finances assigned to the department, including hiring, ensuring training for, reviewing performance, scheduling of work, disciplinary action, and dismissing staff members. Supervises Recreation Center staff, seasonal staff, and contractors.
Ensures that daily, weekly, and monthly attendance records are prepared/maintained for class meetings and drop-in facility use.
Assists with budget preparation and monitors the Recreation budget and expenses.
Conducts program registration and assists with computer input, to include but not limited to cancellations, refunds, and informs participants of class changes or cancelations.
Coordinates daily and long-term facility rental contracts with user groups.
Catalogs and maintain supplies and equipment for assigned facilities and programs.
Coordinates schedule of maintenance for Recreation Center and equipment.
Coordinates and maintains schedules of assigned facilities and areas.
Ensures that monthly safety inspections are conducted and documented. Initiates corrective action as necessary.
Develops, implements, and supervises recreation programs and activities for all age groups and interests.
Schedules, evaluates, and promotes assigned programs.
Coordinates publication of recreation events and programs.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Recreation or related field. Five (5) years of full-time experience in the development and implementation of recreation programs or recreation administration and supervision of leisure activities or programs. Two (2) years of the required experience must have been in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Additional experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications up to two (2) years.
Additional education may substitute for experience up to a maximum of two (2) years.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class C Texas driver's license.
American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED certifications are required within the first 6 months of hire.
Fitness Instructor or Personal Training Certification from a Nationally Accredited Association preferred.
Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) through the National Parks and Recreation Association preferred.
