The Sheboygan Area School District (SASD) - Community Recreation Department (CRD) is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Recreation Supervisor. This position will have a primary focus on Summer School/Summer Adventures, Land and Water Fitness, Aquatics, and the High School Fitness Centers. They will play a key leadership role in assisting in the overall planning and development of comprehensive recreation summer school, year-round land and water fitness exercise, aquatics, and high school fitness centers. The Recreation Supervisor is directly responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and supervising diverse programs for all ages and abilities. The successful candidate must be team-oriented, creative, self-motivated, and enthusiastic with strong leadership and collaboration skills.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION
Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation, Education, or a related degree. Experience in programming recreation summer school, year-round land, and water fitness exercise, and aquatics programs is preferred.
Possess one to three years of experience working as a Recreation Coordinator/Recreation Supervisor or other related areas.
Certified Life Guard Instructor, Aquatics Facility Operator preferred, but not required. Must be willing to obtain those certifications in the first 18 months of employment.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Develop, organize, promote, and supervise the year-round land and water fitness exercise classes.
Develop, organize, promote, and supervise the Summer Adventure/Summer School youth program.
Supervise the Aquatics Coordinator and year-round aquatics and swim lessons.
Supervise the North and South High Fitness Center Supervisors, staff, and replacement and repair of the fitness center equipment.
Provide ongoing communications with CRD staff, SASD building principals, administrators, parents, children, local businesses, and other agencies in the community.
Coordinate/assist with other CRD recreation programs, special events, and activities.
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates part-time and seasonal staff.
Ability to work with a diverse population of children and staff.
Conduct orientations for staff.
Actively review and improve all program areas.
Resolves program-related issues and enforces participant discipline/solutions.
Perform other duties that are self-initiated or as assigned by the Director of Community Recreation.
BUDGET AND FISCAL
Assist in annual budget recommendations for specific program areas.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPECTATION
Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of computer software and social media/marketing platforms.
Ability to perform multiple tasks and take on challenges.
