Lincoln City has a great opportunity with the Parks and Recreation Department as a Recreation Supervisor. This position performs a variety of duties; To oversee the day-to-day operations of the community center and recreation programs offered by the city, including sports activities, city-wide special events, senior activities, enrichment programs, after school program, and aquatic facility. The Recreation Supervisor will organize, schedule, train, assign and supervise the operation of the Lincoln City Community Center and all City recreational programs, including supervising department personnel directly or through subordinate supervisors.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Four-year college education in recreation management, physical education, business, marketing or related field and over four years experience in recreation supervision and marketing operations or any satisfactory combination of experience and training that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties. Broad knowledge of recreation management principles, practices, accounting, program planning and budgeting. Ability to effectively promote and market both recreation programs and a recreation center and actively generate revenue. Demonstrated broad knowledge of the principles of supervision and personnel practices. Demonstrate excellent communication (reading, verbal and written), mathematics, delegation, training, motivation, computer (Word, Excel) and organizational skills and proven ability to take initiative and work efficiently and effectively. At least two years experience in a supervisory or lead worker role is required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES: Possession of a current CPR/First Aid card or the ability to obtain one within six months of appointment and the ability to maintain one throughout employment. Possession of a Certified Pool Operator or Aquatics Facility Operator Certificate within one year of appointment and the ability to maintain throughout employment.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience in overseeing the operation of a multi-use facility. Certified Pool Operator or Aquatics Facility Operator certificates at time of appointment. Video production abilities. More than one year of experience in a supervisory role with union experience preferred. Certified Parks and Recreational Professional certification preferred. American Red Cross Lifeguard certification preferred.
