POSITION TITLE: Resource Development Coordinator
DIVISION: Administration + Planning
REPORTS TO: Administration + Planning Director
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt $26.50 - $31.25/hr
Purpose of Position
The Resource Development Coordinator is responsible for the management and implementation of donor engagement and stewardship, fundraising, and grant writing. This position will have a primary focus on major and planned giving that supports Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation’s funding needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Collaborates with key Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation staff and the Carmel Clay Parks Foundation Board to sustain and grow fundraising programs.
- Develops, manages, and implements an annual strategy for attracting and stewarding donors.
- Prepares and implements both expense budgets and revenue forecasts.
- Researched and identifies various funding prospects including in-kind donations, major and planned giving, and qualifying grants.
- Develop grant proposals and manage compliance to fulfill individual grant requirements.
- Coordinate, develop, document, and maintain internal processes and procedures.
- Works closely with the Marketing & Communications Division to cross promote organizational messaging.
- Solicit needed in-kind donations.
- Generates high-quality responses to solicitations.
- Serves as the primary liaison to all funding agencies and organizations.
- Prepares an annual report at the end of each fiscal year describing the grants, donations, contributions, and gifts received, for the Carmel Clay Parks Board and the Carmel Clay Parks Foundation Board.
- Schedule may vary to include some evenings and occasional weekends.

- Ability to exert light physical effort, which may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials weighing 5-10 pounds.
- Ability to work extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
- Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
- Ability to maintain a valid Indiana Driver’s License.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, non-profit management, or other related fields.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in fundraising/development, communications, sales, or public relations.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in fundraising.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, and database management.
