Si View Metro Parks has an excellent employment opportunity as our new full-time Recreation Supervisor. This position provides oversight for all land-based Si View recreation programs and coordinates District facilities use for programs and rentals, enhancing quality of life for area residents. This role supervises a talented team of full-time program coordinators and part-time building supervisors across several facilities, and requires exceptional customer service and communication skills due to the significant amount of interaction with both the public and staff. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinates facility use and rentals for District managed facilities. Responds to inquiries, books and administers rental contracts, manages facility schedules, coordinates staffing, maintains rental agreements and tracks payments. Serves as a liaison to agencies with facility management agreements. Ensures proper behavior on the part of facility users; takes disciplinary action as needed; responds quickly to potentially hazardous situations and accidents; prepares reports related to incidents and accidents.
Supervises and supports the work of recreation department program coordinators. Develops, plans, and coordinates various recreation programs and events. Develops and implements risk management procedures for programs to include training and supervision. Oversees the use, care and inventory of related program equipment and supplies. Establishes program goals and benchmarks; records and analyzes statistical information used in the evaluation of programs; and prepares program evaluations. Develops and recommends short and long-range plans to enhance existing programs, to create new programs and to expand facility usage.
Prepares and monitors program budgets, maintaining detailed records of revenue and expenditures. Contracts for services of instructors, professional services, and support agencies. Writes grant proposals and research alternative funding sources. Prepares a variety of reports, processes forms, collects fees and performs other administrative tasks. Prepares fee schedules for programs and facilities.
Assists in hiring, training, supervising and evaluating the work of full-time, part-time, and temporary/seasonal employees and volunteer workers. Attends recreation events and programs as required to ensure smooth operation.
Attends various staff and Committee meetings; relays resultant program and facility information to group.
Responds to public inquiries in a courteous manner, providing information within the scope of knowledge or refers to appropriate individual and/or supervisor for resolution.
Supports development of marketing materials. Coordinates with other District employees to develop the seasonal recreation program guide. Coordinate recreation programs with programs offered by schools, community groups, special sports groups, and agencies; coordinates planning and development activities with other agencies, private enterprises, and jurisdictions.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND REGISTRATION:
Valid Washington State driver’s license with driving record free from serious or frequent violations; and
First Aid and CPR Certification required within thirty days of employment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed both in an office setting and at the sites of recreation activities. Work occasionally requires active participation in program activities, requiring varying degrees of physical exertion.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or related field, and three years of full-time work experience with community recreation programming, special events, marketing and/or business management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
