SCHEDULE: Work hours include time during the regular workday, along with evenings and weekends.
DUTIES: Responsible for guiding the management of the indoor athletics facility including:
Discipleship
Discipleship of student employees to facilitate spiritual growth through their work in the athletic facilities
Teaching and modelling the value of Christian competition
Promoting stories where discipleship is exemplified within the athletic department
Recruiting
Using the athletic facilities platform as a way to market the department to prospective student athletes and potential donors
Excellence
Facilitative the best facility operations in the American Southwest Athletic Conference
Continually look for opportunities to improve facility operations
Service
Contributing and caring for the development and growth of the athletic department as a whole in tangible ways
Administrative Effectiveness
The primary duty is to recruit, hire, train, schedule, and manage the student employees, both for the front desk and lifeguards.
The individual in this position will also schedule shifts for themself throughout the week, specifically the chapel shift when undergraduate students cannot work, and any other time needed to step in as a temporary front desk worker in the event of short staffing.
Reserve Solheim facilities for Athletic Staff via EMS
Ensuring compliance of safe working conditions and safe recreational conditions, compliance with ADA, and ongoing safety training for employees
Overseeing and approving bi-weekly time cards for student employees
Promoting available recreational activities through fliers, website, social media, or other public announcements.
Updating operating procedures and staff manuals as needed.
Providing assistance in the preparation and execution of home athletic events, including concession stand management.
Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Athletics
QUALIFICATIONS: LeTourneau University seeks a person with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith committed to a Christian higher education that integrates Christian faith with learning.
Available to consistently work a minimum of 20 hours per week
Must be professional, reliable, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills?
Outstanding administrative and organizational skills
Excellent customer-service attitude with a highly proactive approach?
An ideal candidate should have some knowledge of, and interest in, college athletics
Ability to discreetly handle confidential information?
Must meet the academic qualifications to be accepted into a graduate program at LETU
