Professionally and efficiently manages the day to day operations of Twin Coves Park within budgetary limitations. Manages the park to the policies and standards prescribed by the Director of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Superintendent, Town Manager, and Town Council. Responsible for the daily planning, management, team building, and leadership of Twin Coves Park, to include planning, promoting, reservation/rental, retail, other income items/events, and related financial reporting and other duties assigned.
Develops, promotes, and supervises the day-to-day operations of Twin Coves Park within budgetary limitations. • Monitors attendance and customer service. • Coordinates programs and activities with other department personnel and/or Park Hosts to inform them of activity involvement and anticipated assistance. • Makes recommendations to supervisor on hiring staff involved in programs and activities(park host, seasonal, camp store, housekeeping). Supervises and directs Twin Coves Park personnel. Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, and disciplines as necessary all facility personnel. Develops recruitment programs to maintain adequate staffing. • Monitors budget including revenue and expenditures projections plus supply and equipment needs. Assists in annual budget preparation and creates appropriate decision packages. • Coordinates and monitors contracts/agreements for compliance. Verifies and submits contractor invoices for approval and payment. • Acts as a liaison with Park Hosts, Part Time Staff, Corp of Engineers, DORBA, and Town Staff. • Coordinates park facility hours of operation and schedules staff work hours. Determines hours of operation, schedule, scheduled closings for routine maintenance, and schedules staff to assume adequate facility coverage during operational times. • Provides various program, activity, revenue, and occupancy reports to supervisor. Collects payments and records data pertaining to funds and expenditures. • Coordinates the marketing of Twin Coves Park. • Performs miscellaneous administrative tasks as necessary for successful park operations, including answering phones, responding to emails, and operating a town vehicle.
• Conducts routine maintenance and safety reviews of Twin Coves Park ensuring compliance with safety laws and regulations set by local and state authorities. • Oversees bi-weekly and monthly payroll for all employees and independent contractors. • Monitors and maintains the inventory, distribution, control, and requisitioning of equipment and supplies. Purchases chemicals, first aid supplies, janitorial supplies, and recreational equipment as necessary. • Recommends, implements, and enforces policy and procedures for the effective operation of Twin Coves Park, including establishing goals, objectives, and priorities. Responds and resolves complex and sensitive issues from the public. • Supports other areas within the Parks and Recreation Services Department by assisting with special events, recreational programs, facility rentals, and facility coverage issues in the absence of staff. • Prepares and submits reports to include attendance, operations, accidents, and first aid to supervisor and regulatory agencies as required. • Informs supervisor of all work-related activities and adheres to the personnel, safety, and department policies and procedures. • Performs other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • A Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field is required. • Must have a valid Texas driver's license and driving record must be in compliance with Town policy.
EDUCATION: • CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications are required. • Certified Parks and Recreation Professional is preferred. • Must complete National Campground Management School within three (3) years of employment.
WORK EXPERIENCE: • Must have three (3) years of parks and recreation or related experience. • Supervisory experience is preferred. Must have a valid Texas driver's license and driving record must be in compliance with Town policy.
The Town’s Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for acquiring, developing, and maintaining parks, with assistance from the Parks Board, the Community Development Corporation, and the Town Council. The Parks and Recreation Department is also responsible for operating recreational programs, cultural arts, and organizing community-wide special events. The Town provides traditional park and recreational facilities, including 56 parks, a community recreation center, RV campground, and senior center.
