Woodlake Community Association (WCA) is currently seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented professional to provide leadership for the operations of and staffing at our community pools. This position leads the aquatics operations - to include oversight and operational integrity of all of the mechanical equipment required to operate the pools safely and efficiently. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory matters, including OSHA and state/county health codes.
The Director of Pool Operations is also responsible for staff hiring, training, and development (FT and PT), to ensure fiscal responsibility for all aquatic operations, and provide outstanding service to owners and guests in a quality environment. Director will work with the rest of the Woodlake Leadership Team to coordinate coverage for programming at the aquatic facilities.
Facilities include the Aquatics & Fitness Center (AFC) eight lane indoor pool (includes 1m and 3m diving boards), three AFC outdoor pools (family pool, slide pool, and splash pool). The new Swim & Racquet Center (SRC) three-pool complex which is under construction: family pool with zero entry, jetted area, vortex area, and large water slide; splash pad and shallow water play pool; and an eight-lane combination pool that will have a dome over it from October to April.
Must have aquatic management experience, CPO/AFO certifications are required. Lifeguard certification, LGI/WSI and CPR/AED/First Aid/O2 certification required. Experience in OSHA management preferable. A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, with at least five years of written communication skills, interpersonal abilities and flexible work style are necessary. Diplomacy, tact, and the ability to work with a variety of people, in a variety of situations are essential. Must be able to meet deadlines and manage interruptions and handle requests efficiently, successfully supervisor full-time and part-time staff, and have strong computer proficiency. Applicants must be able to work a varied schedule, to include occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. Starting salary: $55,000-$60,000, plus benefits (medical, dental, vision, HSA, IRA, Life and PTO).

Located in Midlothian, Virginia, Woodlake is governed by an elected seven member Board of Directors. The WCA is a not-for-profit, non-stock corporation responsible for the maintenance and operation of all the common facilities on behalf of the property owners. This includes enforcing covenants and architectural guidelines, collecting assessments, offering community events, and maintaining and enhancing landscaping along the parkways and neighborhood entrances and facilities such as parks, playgrounds, bike trails, stop-a-whiles, and boating areas. Woodlake's amenities also include the Aquatics and Fitness Center (AFC), with two pool facilities (both indoor and outdoor), fitness equipment, group exercise room, and cycle studio. Additionally, the Swim and Racquet Center (SRC) is comprised of 14 tennis courts (both clay and hard), community center, and a new pool facility currently under construction, opening in May 2023. The new SRC pool complex will include outdoor pools, and a domed combination pool.
