The Town of Sahuarita, Arizona seeks a dynamic and dedicated professional to serve as its next Parks, Recreation & Community Services Director. Located just 20 minutes south of downtown Tucson, Sahuarita is replete with outdoor activities and is a short drive from the Tucson International Airport and the University of Arizona. The next Director will be a strategic thinker, a visionary with the ability to execute plans that achieve the Town’s objectives of developing distinctive programs to bring all segments of the community together. The successful candidate must be an expert in the areas of parks and recreation management and have an ability to balance resources by keeping community needs at the center of their decision-making. The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Director must be a collaborator who actively engages employees at all levels and an excellent communicator who can work effectively with elected officials, Town management and staff, outside agencies, the media, and the public.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree inParks and Recreation Administration, Recreation and Leisure Services, Public Administration, Education, Physical Education, or related field. At least seven (7) years of successful and progressive levels of responsibility across various parks, recreation, and community service divisions, including three (3) years at the supervisory or management level. The salary range for this position is $98,107 - $147,161 with total compensation to be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Additionally, the Town provides a generous benefits package that is competitive with the local market.
