We are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and skilled professional to join the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department and serve as the Chief over the Golf Business Enterprise.  The ideal candidate will have proven golf course management experience, exemplary organizational, verbal and written communication, and excellent interpersonal management skills. This position will report to the Senior Chief of Aesthetics and will be responsible for directing and coordinating all of the business activities of six County Golf Courses.  The specific scope of work is outlined below.

• Development of the Golf Division’s Strategic and Business Plans.
• Managing all activities of County Golf Courses; including concessionary functions and the development and implementation of programs and events while ensuring compliance with established laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Exercise stringent oversight of fiscal activities to maximize solvency and sustainability.
• Maintain oversight of Divisional resources to include operational and capital budget of $9.8 million, turf grounds, assigned fleet, maintenance equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate the development and analysis of budgetary and financial data; establish financial and resource utilization, and expenditure controls in accordance with established constraints.
• Leading the benchmarking and research of emerging and Golf industry related trends analysis supporting the Division’s strategic goals and objectives.
• Evaluating and analyzing customer survey data to identify service or performance gaps and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
• Participating in the planning and implementation of construction, alteration, and installation projects for County golf courses.
• Ensure proper contract negotiations and oversee bidding and award functions for concessionary functions.
• Managing subordinate staff: superintendents, golf clubhouse managers, park service aides, guest services representatives, maintenance and administrative staff, in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. A total of 149 positions; 63 full time, 81 part time, 5 part time variable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of four years of professional experience in business operations or a revenue producing enterprise to include supervisory experience are required. Must possess a driver’s license.
