The City of Cordova, Alaska (population 2,300) is nestled in the heart of a spectacular wilderness of Prince William Sound, Alaska. Cordova has a close-knit and active community environment. The area is famous for Copper River salmon and its location offers a wonderful mix of active recreational pursuits, hiking, skiing, hunting, and fishing in some of the world's richest waters. Recreation is year-round and trails, forested mountains, and glaciers beckon to serious hikers and casual walkers alike. Cordova is off the Alaska road system, but Anchorage is a short 40-minute flight with daily jet service or a scenic ferry trip to Whitter on the Alaska Marine Highway System.
