Founded in 1852 and located 80 miles northeast of San Francisco, Placer County, California (pop. 405,000, 1,506 sq. mi.), is a rapidly growing, prosperous, and innovative community that stretches from Sacramento (state capital), east across the Sierra Nevada mountains and through the Tahoe National Forest to the Nevada state line.
