Responsible for supporting the general operation of the CRC. This includes managing Child Watch, supporting Customer Service, and the coordination of the facility for events, programs, and rentals.
Supervision Received: Reports directly to the Adult Recreation Coordinator and Recreation Programs and Operations Manager.
Supervision Exercised: Direct supervision of Child Watch attendants, CRC Facility Supervisor, Facility Attendant, and part-time staff while Manager on Duty (MOD) when their supervisors are not present.
Essential Duties:The following are examples of primary duties assigned to this position. Other
related duties may be assigned.
Supervises the CRC facility operation.
Responsible for overseeing and troubleshooting facility technology.
Ensures that the CRC is properly prepared, cleaned and maintained for the purpose of safe and effective operation of programs, activities, and drop-in services.
Conducts safety inspections during facility walkthroughs.
Recommends efficiency and cost saving improvements for facility operation.
Oversees birthday parties and facility rentals including taking registrations, organizing use, and interacting with patrons to ensure patron experience.
Coordinates with local schools and youth organizations to plan field trips and/or group visits to MRD facilities.
Manager on Duty/Management:
Responsible for covering the majority of MOD shifts.
Oversees the rotation of the remaining MODs shifts among full-time and core employees.
Monitors the security cameras to ensure a safe, positive, and crime free environment.
Organizes and oversees special events including large parties, receptions, teen nights and programs.
Coordinates, assigns, and assists part-time Child Watch employees.
Hires, trains, motivates, supervises, disciplines, and evaluates part-time Child Watch employees, Facility Supervisor, and Facility Attendant.
Understands and supports departmental policies and procedures to ensure oversight of all CRC part-time employees when their supervisors are not present.
Maintains thorough knowledge of MRD’s Activity Guide, personnel, programs, services, facilities, policies, and procedures.
Assist the Customer Service Representatives at the front desk by answering phone calls, helping walk-in visitors, screening callers / walk-in visitors, and referring them to the appropriate personnel, receiving / recording messages for employees and patrons.
Performs the monthly ACH billing when the Customer Service Specialist in unavailable.
Facilitates program registrations and issues daily receipts.
Operates registration software and manages Child Watch pass records.
Responsible for updating MRD social media sites with CRC related programs, classes, and special events.
Promotes MRD’s programs, services, and facilities through in person interactions and other avenues available.
Works with the Recreation Marketing Leader in the general marketing efforts related to the CRC.
Aids in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, and strategies for services.
Develops and administrates assigned budgets.
Forecasts staffing, equipment, material and supply needs.
Recommends resources needed and submits budget recommendations.
Experience and Education:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation, physical education, management, marketing, public administration, or related field. With three (3) years of administrative experience and two (2) year of supervisory experience.
License and Certification:
The possession of or ability to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid Certificate
Certified Parks and Recreation Professional, preferred
Office environment with extensive public contact. Hours will include seasonal variations, with evening, weekend, and holiday hours. The employee is required to utilize their personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement provided by MRD and to have a cell phone with part of the monthly service cost covered by MRD.
Primary functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time. This position may require some moderate lifting and working primarily indoors.
