Position Summary: Under limited supervision of the Community Services Director or designee, manages, directs, and monitors the development and maintenance activities, renovations or construction of all county parks, play lots, open spaces, athletic fields, tennis courts, cemetery, stables area, rodeo arena and dressage area, and other parks, facilities and public grounds. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information.
Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Landscape Architecture, Park Resource Management, Agricultural Sciences or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience. • Four years’ experience in public parks and/or private sector grounds maintenance. • Two years’ supervisory and/or management experience across all years of job related experience. • Must possess or have the ability to obtain within six months of employment and must maintain New Mexico, JS6 Journeyman Irrigation License or approved equivalent. • Must possess or have ability to obtain within six months of employment and must maintain valid 3A and 3B State of New Mexico Pesticides, Herbicides, and Fungicides Licenses. • Must successfully complete pre-employment physical exam prior to commencing work. • If in possession of a CDL-B Driver’s License, must successfully complete mandatory drug screening and subsequent random drug and alcohol screenings. • Successful completion of the County’s Need to Know training within one year of employment.
