MINISTRY VALUES and STRATEGY: 1.The Director of Athletics must be committed to the Lordship of Christ. This not only means having the correct intellectual belief, but it involves a radical transformation in every area of one’s lifestyle. The Director of Athletics must continually seek opportunities to grow. She/he needs to possess strong character traits through the regular practicing of the spiritual disciplines (e.g. prayer, meditation, Bible reading) and develop ministry values that express what God can do through him/her in impacting the coaches and students with whom they interact. 2.The Director of Athletics’ ministry strategy is to serve coaches, students and the entire campus by creating a spiritually rich environment supporting community development, quality programs and exciting innovative initiatives. OVERALL FUNCTION: Reporting to the Vice President for Student Development and Athletics, the Director of Athletics’ primary responsibilities are to direct, support and supervise a comprehensive NAIA intercollegiate athletic program representing 21 teams with an appropriate level coaching staff, 500 student athletes and the Campus Recreation Department. The Director of Athletics is ultimately responsible for department mission, culture, budgets, strategic planning, fields and facilities, policies, compliance, scholarships, promotion and leadership of the division. The Director of Athletics is part of the Student Development team of leaders representing student life, student engagement, student success services, and life-calling and career services and Campus Police. GENERAL EXPECTATIONS: 1.Support and strengthen the department mission of discipleship through athletics. 2.Request, monitor, and oversee any budgetary responsibilities as assigned with integrity. 3.Participate as requested in committees, councils or professional organizations that pertain to this position. 4.Counsel with students and refer as necessary regarding spiritual, personal, emotional or academic problems. 5.Maintain a professional image and manner consistent with Indiana Wesleyan University's mission and goals. Support the policies of the student handbook with integrity. 6.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and create an environment of quality and innovation.

Additional Salary Information: COMPENSATION: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Serving in Full-time, 12 month position.
