Initial Review Date (IRD): 02-10-2021 Dept Marketing Statement Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Formulates, implements, and monitors facilities management policies and programs. Develops plans to meet objectives and deliver results. Under the direction of the Athletics and Recreation Director, the Associate Director of Facilities and Maintenance is responsible to lead, manage, and coordinate all aspects of facility operations and maintenance of the Athletics and Recreation indoor facilities (approximately 174,000 sq. ft.), aquatic plaza, 17 acres of sports fields, 12 tennis courts, 4 outdoor basketball courts, marina docks and slips and surrounding areas. These duties include supervision of maintenance and custodial, safety and risk management, facility scheduling and access, ongoing operations and staffing. Additionally, this position is responsible for facility, turf, and equipment repair and replacement up to and including major renovation and new construction projects. The Department of Athletics & Recreation at University of California, Santa Cruz serves a student population of approximately 19,000 students and more than 3,500 faculty and staff. Programs offered include 15 NCAA DIII sports including tennis, soccer, basketball, volleyball, track & field, cross country, swimming & diving, and golf serving over 330 student-athletes. Physical Education (PE) courses offer students an opportunity to learn and improve skills progressively in a variety of activities while gaining knowledge about the relationship between physical activity and wellness. The department boasts an Intramural program serving more than 2,000 unique participants among the University's ten Colleges. Over 36 Sport Club organizations engage over 1,200 active participants in competitive activity. The Department of Athletics & Recreation also offers a wide variety of recreational programming and opportunities including aquatics, fitness, group exercise, boating and a variety of outdoor adventure outings and trips. Athletics & Recreation at UC Santa Cruz is an integrated unit with shared facilities and a growing support staff. Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Salary Range Information: $64,200 - $85,000 No. of Positions: 1 Benefits Level Eligibility: This position is eligible for full benefits.
