The Huron-Clinton Metroparks, located in Southeastern Michigan, is a five-county regional parks system serving Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties. This premier park system hosts nearly 7.3 million visitors each year at 13 Metroparks covering 25,000 acres, including eight golf courses, two marinas, scenic nature trails, beaches, pools, educational activities and winter sports. The Metroparks is seeking an experienced professional to serve as its Deputy Director. Under the direction of the Director, this position serves as the chief operations officer of the Metroparks and performs a variety of professional, administrative, designated and assigned managerial duties related to the daily operations of the Metroparks. Will help develop and maintain external relationships and helps shape the internal culture of the organization. The position offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.

To qualify for this position, you will need a bachelor’s degree in a related field and ten years’ experience in parks & recreation, public administration, management, or a related field. A master’s degree and Parks & Recreation experience are preferred. Applicants with eight or more years of being in a leadership role will be given consideration toward meeting the minimum educational requirements. Executive leadership experience is preferred.
