The City of Carroll, Iowa with premier community recreation facilities in west central Iowa, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others improve their lives through health, fitness, and leisure activities to lead the City’s recreation services division as our next Recreation Superintendent. This individual will oversee the 60,000 sq. ft. Carroll Recreation Center, 11,250 sq. ft. outdoor aquatic center, and leisure service programing at outdoor baseball, softball, football, and soccer fields.
The Recreation Superintendent must be customer service oriented and energized by working with and serving a large number of people and members. This position leads a team of three full-time employees and many part-time employees that help our citizens achieve growth in a creative, fun and upbeat atmosphere where every day is different. The Recreation Superintendent needs to be prepared to create and lead change to achieve the established goals and benchmarks for the Carroll Recreation Center and all recreational and aquatic programs. This person will create marketing plans, promote all recreational activities and memberships at the Carroll Recreation Center.
A degree in relevant academic field and four years relevant experience is preferred but not required. Individuals with past customer service-oriented experience is a plus. The successful candidate may be required to obtain Certified Pool Operator and American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificates within first six months of employment.
