This is a 12-month full-time, senior leadership/management position in the Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER) requiring the ability to supervise and lead. The Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student-Athlete Development is responsible for but not limited to: directing and delivering intercollegiate athletics activities and education specific to compliance with NCAA, MIT, state and federal rules and regulations, providing leadership/oversight student-athlete development programs, and provide supervision of varsity sports, as assigned. As a member of the DAPER Senior Staff, this person advises and assists the Director of Athletics/Department Head with operational matters that pertain specifically to as well as the other functional areas of DAPER. As requested, assist with varsity event supervision, championships and special event development and management.
Three to five years of progressively responsible work in athletics/sports team and coach management. NCAA rules knowledge, leadership, and coordination experience required. Knowledge of NCAA DIII and DI rules and regulations preferred. Experience with, and knowledge of contemporary eligibility and recruiting databases is essential. Demonstrated engagement with student-athlete well-being or programming is required. Must have strong interpersonal skills and a student facing service-oriented approach to daily work interactions. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a background check.
