In this position you will:
Supervise and coordinate the efforts of paid and volunteer staff to provide quality recreation experiences to our guests.
Manage lifeguards to ensure aquatic protocols are maintained for a safe and professional work environment.
Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies. Inspect the facility, report and resolve any unsafe conditions or equipment.
Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of services and practices. Assist in advancing long and short range plans that are aligned with P&R objectives.
Participate in budget planning. Purchase and maintain related operation and personnel expenditures in a fiscally responsible manner.
Create and distribute marketing plans and communications materials to engage and attract community participation and sponsors.
Under general direction of the Recreation Supervisor, participate in other recreation event programming and office administrative tasks to include records management, reports, etc.
Need to have/be:
Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Leisure Services, Physical Education or related field, with one year of experience in aquatics operations and programming.
American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. CPO/AFO certification is also highly desirable.
Working knowledge of the principles, practices and equipment utilized in the administration and operation of aquatic facilities and P&R programming.
Energetic, self-motivated and dedicated to provide a high level of service to a diverse customer base. Highly organized with strong project and time management skills.
A team player with outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, willing to put team needs above self.
Proficient in using MS Office and P&R software systems to create promotional materials, schedule staff and facilities, track and report performance criteria.
