The Woodridge Park District located in Woodridge, Illinois has an opening for a Park Maintenance Operations Manager staff member. As a previous four time Illinois Distinguished & Accredited Agency Award recipient, the Woodridge Park District serves approximately 35,500 residents with 690 acres of parks and sites offering over 1,000 programs each year. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing general maintenance for the Park District.
POSITION: This is a full time, non-exempt position that reports to the Superintendent of Parks & Operations. The position includes an exceptional benefit package that includes medical, prescription, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, pension plan (IMRF) and much more.
QUALIFICATIONS: o Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent required o Minimum of (5) five years of park maintenance supervisory/management experience o Certification in Park and Recreation Maintenance Management or equivalent preferred o Task management/work order system experience preferred o Able to manage daily routine/tasks of multiple park maintenance staff o Strong knowledge of trade skills/techniques to include but not limited to: general plumbing, carpentry, irrigation, & electrical and possess the ability to use this in implementation and supervision of work tasks, repairs, and special projects o Able to obtain and maintain a CDL Class A within first 6 months of hire; multiple pesticide licenses, certified pool operator, and playground safety certification within the first 12 months of hire o Able to operate heavy equipment including but not limited to: tractors, end loaders, backhoe, skid steer & ancillary attachments, large mowers, fork lift, and trailers; operate power equipment and use hand tools. Able to operate small equipment including but not limited to: off-road utility vehicles, chain saws, small riding and push mowers, blowers, weed trimmers, generators, etc. Able to operate all vehicles in fleet inventory including but not limited to: passenger buses, dump trucks, garbage truck, pick-up trucks, snow plows, passenger vehicles, etc.
RESPONSIBILITY: This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all operations and services provided for the physical maintenance of parks grounds and facilities. Duties will include but are not limited to: managing park maintenance, repairs, budgets, and staffing; assisting the Superintendent of Parks and Operations with the planning, development, implementation and management of park maintenance crews, related programs, repair and replacement schedules, and accompanying records.
