Under administrative direction of the City Manager, plans, develops, coordinates, and organizes the activities of the Leisure Services Department of the City within parameters set forth by local, state and federal authorities. The Director is responsible for supervision, coordination, management, budgeting, and administration of the public library, community recreation, aquatics, parks development and maintenance, and the public art program of the City of Clive. Implements City Council strategic goals and plans pertaining to the Department. The Director works with pertinent City boards and commissions to develop and execute programs and policies of the Department.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college with major coursework in Parks and/or Recreation Management, Library Science, Public Administration, Business, or related field.
Master’s Degree in Parks and/or Recreation Management, Library Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
At least five (5) years experience in managing or directing parks, recreation, and/or library operations in the public sector or at a higher education institution.
