Assists in the facility management of the FIU Stadium, FIU Arena, FIU Baseball Stadium, FIU Soccer Stadium, FIU Softball Stadium, FIU Sand Volleyball Courts, FIU Tennis Courts and the FIU Athletics practice fields. Operates and manages the FIU Athletics facility master calendar.
-Coordinates game day set-up needs for athletic department. Works with FIU Facilities Management to determine solutions to infrastructure challenges. Adheres to policies and procedures of department and sees process through.
-Coordinates with all vendors and game day operational staff for home events and maintenance needs. Assists in the rental process for external events. Oversees the setup and tear down to all home athletic contests. Reports to Associate Athletic Director - Athletic Facilities & Operations.
-Assists the Director of Athletic Facilities & Ops in operating the University athletic facilities.
-Serves as on-site representative for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at events held in University athletic facilities.
-Assists with the physical set-up of equipment at events. Schedules, hires, and trains event staff (internal and external).
-Serves as the point of contact person for facilitating outsourced services during events (i.e. concessions, box office, parking, custodial); and as a game management administrator at designated athletic events. Schedules, coordinates, and staffs revenue generating external and internal events in each Athletic Facility.
-Establishes and maintains positive working relationship with University outsourced constituents directly involved with the operation of the University athletics facilities.
-Resolves complaints or problems that arise during events and activities sponsored by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
-Collaborates with Media Relations, Ticket Operations, Sports Medicine and all other entities to ensure that all areas are sufficiently covered in the presentation of all FIU Athletic events.
-Supervises interns, federal work-study students and volunteers who work with event management and operations area of athletic department.
-Serves as the Coordinator and scheduling liaison for FIU Athletic events and practices including Cheerleaders, Golden Dazzlers and Mascot.
-Develops, coordinates, and monitors the schedules of the University athletic facilities and compiles a master schedule of events.
-Works to increase the rental of facilities to produce revenue.
-Maintains communication with departmental staff, coaches, University community and general community.
-Reviews, understands, and abides by all department procedures. Maintains confidentiality for the department. Treat with utmost confidentiality and sensitivity any matter pertaining to medical, academic and personal data of student athletes any information either directly or indirectly impacting the University the University and/or Athletic Department.
-Adhere to all State of Florida, University, Conference USA, and department rules and policies pertaining to the position of Asst Director of Facilities & Ops. Report any know NCAA violations or concerns to the Director of Athletic Compliance and be responsible for the monitoring of any subordinate as it relates to NCAA regulations.
-Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or any other university emergency closing. Is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
-Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Experience with scheduling software.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
