The Aquatics Pool Operator maintains and repairs the City’s aquatics facilities, equipment, and grounds in a competent manner to ensure safe, clean and efficient operations, and performs a broad range of technical, routine and non-routine maintenance and repair. These tasks are illustrative only and may include other related duties.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Two years of related college course work or completion of INRPA Resource Management School (or NRPA Maintenance Management School) preferred. Two years of experience performing comprehensive building and mechanical operations, maintenance and repairs, which includes operating and maintaining commercial swimming pools is required. Current Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator is required. Current Certified Pool Operator Instructor or Aquatic Facility Operator Instructor certification preferred. Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider certifications must be obtained within the probationary period. Confined space and mechanical lift training within probationary period. Limited Maintenance Industrial Electrical License preferred. SCUBA Certification preferred. Possession or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Oregon Driver License is required. Must have ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam, water skills test, and a background and/or a criminal history check.
Full-time, 40 hours per week, AFSCME-represented position, 12-month probationary period
This position has frequent schedule changes including weekend, early mornings, late evenings, and holidays.
