Pace University is seeking applicants for the position of Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant with the Pace Athletics Department. Responsibilities: The Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant will be a member of the Pace Athletics external operations team and provide support to the department’s 14 varsity sports. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications in all daily operations within the communications office, updating and creating unique content for www.PaceUAthletics.com and social media, media relations, serving as the on-site communications staff member for select varsity contests, recording and distributing statistics, producing game programs, schedule posters and schedule magnets, serving as public address announcer, creating graphics and videos, and performing other duties as assigned.
Candidate should have working knowledge and experience in the operation of the statistical programs for football, field hockey, men’s/women’s lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball.
This is a 10-month position. Ability to work weekends as well as nights is required. Some travel may also be necessary.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, sports administration, journalism or public relations. Website management experience (creating, editing, updating) preferred. Effective communication (oral, written and interpersonal) skills. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and video production. Experience in sports reporting and feature writing.
Compensation: Graduate tuition available up to 18 credits per year.
