Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department (PROS) seeks a candidate with commitment to building a vibrant, healthier and more livable community through the implementation of the department's Parks and Open Space Master Plan. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to achieving planning, design and construction excellence in the development park project and demonstrate experience in innovative architecture/engineering that evidences an understanding of industry best practices and the capacity to effectively grow and sustain a high level of collaboration, innovation and productivity critical to the department's success and sustainable future. The ideal candidate shall have five years of experience in design, construction or management of marina projects; knowledge of marina construction budgets, business administrative principles and practices; maintain knowledge of waterway issues affecting the County, and experience in small boat handling as well as the ability to swim and dive in order to gain access to underwater marina structures. This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising all marina projects, serves as project manager for the efficient and effective direction and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, design, bidding and construction of marina projects; authorizing and monitoring the work of architectural and engineering consultants and contractors engaged in the design and construction of a variety of complex park marinas, buildings and related facilities; develop and maintain a yearly inspection of (six) marinas; recommend site improvements. A Licensed State of Florida Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is desired.
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field. Five years of experience in the design, construction, or management of construction projects are required. A license in any of the following may substitute for the required education: State of Florida Professional Engineer, State of Florida Registered Architect, Miami-Dade County or State of Florida General Contractor's, Miami-Dade County or State of Florida General Building Contractor, Miami-Dade County or State of Florida General Engineering Contractor's, or Miami-Dade County or State of Florida Certificate of Eligibility in General Building or General Engineering.
