Responsible for performing a variety of duties to ensure that children have the best party experience while using the indoor playground.
WORK SCHEDULE: Hours and shifts for this position vary from week to week and may include weekends, evenings and holidays.
ASSIGNMENT: Weekly schedule is determined on an 'as needed' basis and can range from no hours to up to 40 hours during the summer months (Mid May through August) and will include weekends, evenings and holidays.
Dept of Children & Family regulations require verification of two (2) references on your application. Please notify them in advance that, if chosen, City of Largo will be contacting them for verification.
No vacations will be approved during the summer months
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for greeting patrons ensuring they have paid the appropriate fee and that they have a safe and enjoyable experience. Develops and maintains a professional relationship with patrons by providing personal attention and answer questions about Center programs and membership. Prior to opening the indoor playground and start of a new session, completes a walk through and visual inspection of the playground for safety hazards, trash removal, cleaning or sanitizing equipment.
During the session time, will greet children and parents. Provide direction to children on the proper and safe use of the structure. Monitors the age appropriate areas of the structure and ensures compliance. Ensures that all children are wearing socks when using the playground. Makes visual counts of children on the different levels of the playground structure to monitor safe play and appropriate behavior.
May need to communicate with parents if a child is not following the rules of the playground.
Reports all maintenance issues immediately to the Manager. Assists with minor repairs or preventive maintenance on the playground. The playground requires daily maintenance. Responsible for wiping down and sanitizing equipment throughout the day .
Ensures childrens' safety is a priority. Responds to emergency situations as required and maintains accurate accident and incident reports.
Provides customer service and hospitality to parties at the facility. Tasks will include issuing wristbands, decorating and serving food.
Be familiar with current Play Magazine and have one available at all times.
Performs other work as required.
Training and Experience:
Must be at least 16 years old
Prefer some experience in recreation setting, customer service or child care programs
work a flexible schedule (variety of days and times that will change from week to week)
to take initiative and prioritize tasks
to focus on where children are and what they are doing
follow both verbal and written instructions
concentrate on detail
May need to ask disruptive children to leave the facility and use tact and diplomacy to communicate behavior issues and consequences to parents
May need to process payments at the front desk
