At a minimum, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, recreation or park administration, business administration, horticulture, forestry, or a closely related field. Candidates must possess a minimum seven (7) years of increasing experience in parks, recreation, and library program administration; including three (3) years of administrative and management responsibility. Possession of a valid California Driver’s License upon hire is required. The annual salary range for the incoming Parks, Recreation & Libraries Director is $146,883.56 - $196,840.17; placement within this range is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
