The Athletics Graphic Designer will be a key stakeholder in supporting the creative needs of Holy Cross Athletics and will be responsible for the visual brand of the Crusaders across print and digital platforms, including large-format design such as facility graphics. This person will work closely with and support all areas of the external operations team, including marketing, ticketing and communications to enhance revenue streams, tell the unique stories of Holy Cross Athletics, and achieve the goals of the department.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Strategically develop visual assets to support and enhance sales campaigns and organizational branding
Work in partnership with communications, video production and marketing to create engaging digital storytelling to promote Holy Cross Athletics and its 27 varsity programs
Support the graphics needs of internal stakeholders through the creation of social media content, recruiting graphics, marketing and advertising materials, fundraising pieces, and other creative collateral, ensuring all content is on brand and on message
Schedule, coordinate and art direct all photoshoots
Create printed advertisements, publications, solicitations, ads, logos, signage, web ads, emails, digital boards, etc.
Champion, respect, and expertly communicate brand guidelines and logo usage
Manage multiple projects concurrently, working within budget and scheduling requirements
Recruit and oversee graphic design interns/internship program
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties
Bachelor's degree in communication design, graphic design or an appropriate area of specialization with at least one (1) year of full-time professional experience in commercial design, art, marketing, graphic design, sports or related field
Expert-level experience with Adobe Creative Suite with demonstrated understanding of design principles
Ability to take complex ideas and present them in a manner that is easy to consume and share
Ability to accept and incorporate feedback to improve designs and adapt to changing priorities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively
Ability to produce high volumes of graphics on deadline while maintaining strong production quality and consistency
Ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Demonstrated experience designing for social media platforms
Experience collaborating effectively with a team and working cross-functionally to achieve department goals
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, including the ability to clearly communicate project goals to stakeholders and team members
Preferred candidates should: be self-motivated with a passion for innovation and the drive to take initiative; have knowledge of best practices regarding consumer-related products (marketing collateral, digital signage, etc.); be willing to help out the team when needed
Experience creating motion graphics is a plus
