Preferred Education and Certifications in the following: • Certified Parks and Recreation Professional • Prefer graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a major in Recreation, Administration or related Field.
Preferred Experience in the following: • Five (5) years or more of experience coordinating programs specifically with Youth (5 – 12 yrs. of age), Teens (13 – 18 yrs. Of age), Adults and Senior Adults in a professional recreational setting. • Five (5) years or more of supervisory or lead capacity, including managing, coaching and training personnel. • Two (2) years or more of experience investigating and responding to complaints with other Managers, employees and the general public. • Two (2) years or more experience working with volunteers and/or volunteer groups. • Two (2) years or more experience in managing fiscal planning and an operational budget for an assigned work area. • Two (2) years or more experience in managing public relations for an employer, including acting as a liaison for the employer between different organizational units, communities and stakeholders. • Proficiency in RecTrac or other recreation/database management software program. • Bilingual in English/Spanish. • Intermediate level or above in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point and Outlook.
