Widefield School District 3 Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an outgoing and dynamic individual to lead our Arts and Cultural Service Department. It's an exciting opportunity to learn, expand programming and grow community relations. Employee will design, organize and implement arts and cultural programs and special events in accordance with community needs. Programs include, but not limited to, the following: Special Events, Camps, Theater, Dance, Art Classes, etc. The individual will screen, interview, and recommend hiring of instructors, site supervisors and other relevant staff. They will supervise and evaluate all employees in the department. The individual will be required to produce manuals, rules and regulations, program and instructional guides, and other appropriate communications related to effective recreation programs. Some nights and weekends will be required.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Arts, or related field
Experience: Management of youth and/or adult recreation experience 2-3 years
Certificates/License: Current Colorado Driver's License, Certification in first aid and CPR

Widefield School District 3 Parks and Recreation is the only parks and recreation department in the state of Colorado that is owned and operated by a school district. Widefield is a suburb of Colorado Springs and has over 50,000 residents. It is the largest unincorporated area in the state. The parks and recreation department services southern Colorado Springs with a community center, parks, ball fields and playgrounds. The community center has a swimming pool, fitness room, preschool, library, all purpose room, and office space. The schools' gymnasiums are used for youth and adult sports, along with other program activities. The Parks and Recreation Department has 20 full time employees and 140 part time employees.
