JOB TITLE: Adventure Center Assistant Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Assist with the Supervision, planning, organization and control of the Adventure Center, ski and snow tubing areas. Operations to include treetop activities, paintball, rock climbing, and related sports and activities affiliated to the Adventure Center, ski and snow tubing.
REPORTS TO: Adventure Center Manager
PRIMARY DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
Ensure all safety inspection checklists are completed on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis as required.
Assist with the development of the various areas where the adventure center activities will take place.
Responsible for all banks and accounting related to the area as well inventory control of supplies.
Maintain equipment in good condition. Observe and report any repairs needed on equipment, furniture, fixtures or building
Assist with preparing weekly schedule and progress report for the adventure center, skiing and snow tubing areas.
Oversee adventure center program, ski patrol program, Ski lesson program. Provide team member training for programs.
Facilitate and assist with planning special events for corporate groups.
Promote sales initiatives
Interview, hire, and discipline staff as necessary.
Maintain CPR certification
SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to read, write, understand and follow written or verbal instructions. (English) After training, proficiency in fitting and maintaining various pieces of sports equipment are also required. Planning and organizational skills are necessary. Must have a valid drivers license
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Current certification in CPR, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens, First Aid. Ability to read and write English is necessary.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Previous experience as an Adventure Center team leader or equivalent.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge about adventure sports, ski lesson operations, the equipment and developing outdoor programs.
Must have the ability to conduct operations in a rational manner and make decisions expediently.
Must be flexible, able to adapt to changes on short notice.
Genuinely enjoy working with the guests.
Must be service and safety-oriented.
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Equipment, keys, control sheets, charges and cash, guest releases, overall safety, cleanliness and profitability of assigned areas
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift heavy pieces of equipment. Must be able to develop trails, paintball fields, rock climb and drive.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Schedule includes weekends and holidays, shift work. Indoor and outdoor work for all seasons is required.
HAZARDS ENCOUNTERED: Care must be taken to lift equipment properly. Many of the adventure center activities require physical exertion
