DESCRIPTION: Director will manage, supervise, and coordinate all recreational programs, services, and activities: to include coordination and management of all recreation programs, facilities and staff. Oversee all maintenance and construction of parks & recreation facilities. Reports to and works under Board of Trustees. Facilities include park, ball fields, swimming pool, equestrian grounds, skate park, multi-purpose field and recreation center.
DUTIES: *Preparation & administration of the Parks & Recreation annual budget; direct the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor purchase requisitions as well as approve all expenditures within budget parameters.
*Manage and participate in the development and implementation of recreation goals, objectives, policies & priorities as directed by the Board of Trustees.
*Coordinate and manage all youth and adult recreational programs including baseball, T-ball, softball, soccer, basketball, aquatics programming, recreation center programming, special events, etc.
* General knowledge, aptitude and experience in facility maintenance and mechanical areas is key in this position. Manage, guide and direct maintenance crew in the maintenance of all District owned properties including parks, ball fields, equestrian facilities, swimming pool, recreation center and other District owned properties.
*Select, train, schedule and monitor performance of subordinate employees, volunteers and contractors.
*Develop partnerships with public and private institutions, the community and with the general public.
*Establish and evaluate long-range goals, objectives, and procedures of the Parks & Recreation Department.
*Continuously monitor & evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of recreation service delivery methods and procedures as well as report to the Board any significant changes in the recreation programming.
*A Bachelor's Degree in Parks & Recreation or a similar related field or three to five years of progressively responsible experience in administration and supervision. Certified as an Aquatics Facility Operator or able to obtain certificate upon hire. Valid driver license and clean driving record. EOE

The West Wendover Recreation District is a general improvement district that owns and operates recreation facilities and programs in West Wendover, Nevada. West Wendover is a gaming community of approximately 6,000 residents located on the Utah/Nevada border approximately 120 miles west of Salt Lake City, Utah. Recreational facilities in West Wendover include an 18 hole golf course, Olympic size swimming pool, equestrian grounds, community park and recreation center. The WWRD also runs the youth league programs which include baseball, T-ball, softball, basketball & soccer. The District has full time and seasonal employees.
