The Senior Services Specialist will supervise, develop, assign, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for providing Community Center services for senior adults, as well as year-round recreational program services within the Parks, Recreation, and Public Lands Department; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: select and recruit Community Center staff and volunteers; coordinate staff and volunteer training; plan and layout work projects; develop, plan, organize and schedule recreational, health, and consumer information programs for senior citizens and the general public; respond to and resolve inquiries and complaints; prepare reports on operations and activities; participate in the preparation and administration of the Community Center budget, and provide oversight of all aspects and activities of the senior organization.
Standard hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday –Friday; however, work schedules could vary based on need
Bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation, social services, leisure services or a related field
Two years program experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities which would allow an individual to perform the duties of the position
Must possess a valid Montana driver’s license
Desirable Qualifications or the Ability and Interest to Attain:
Designation as a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP)
Commercial driver’s license from the State of Montana
