The Associate AD for Business Operations is a member of the management team in Intercollegiate Athletics, reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and oversees, in accordance with the CFO, the management of the overall financial and business management of the department. Responsibilities include: supervising the day-to-day operations of the business office; performing complex professional accounting work; monitoring of monthly financial statements; serving as department’s liaison with the internal and external auditors; approving all expense reports and advance requests according to the University and NCAA guidelines; authorizing all department expenditures, including payroll; oversee all foundation accounts, including deposits, disbursements, and account reconciliation; Manage the budget and finances for new and ongoing facility project plans as they pertain to pre-construction requirements from the State, Board of Regents, and University timelines and the continued monitoring of deadline changes; manage and supervise assigned athletic sport(s) programs consistent with the mission and values of the department and the university to collaborating with coaches to plan, monitor and reconcile program budgets, and review and monitor monthly budget reports throughout the year; collaborate with sports coaches to develop future schedules; approve team travel; and continually educate coaches on NCAA and conference rules and regulations; manages relationship with Anthony Travel including direct liaison to in-house Travel Manager, providing financial information, including analyzing data and preparing reports, to the Deputy AD and Director of Athletics; and performing other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, sports management or a related field and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible managerial experience in the areas of financial management, accounting, compliance and/or budgeting is required. Excellent organizational skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines. Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze a variety of numerical data sets (i.e., revenue and expense reports, budgets, etc.). Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize and present financial information. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to effectively use common computer application programs and related computer software packages (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, database, internet). Demonstrated supervisory experience required. Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse organization.
Master’s degree in Athletic Administration, Business Management, Accounting, or related field preferred. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible managerial experience in business operations, preferably in a collegiate athletic program, particularly NCAA Division I programs. Knowledge of NCAA policies, practices and financial accounting and reporting requirements is strongly preferred.
