Directs all aspects of the operation of the Parks and Trees Division, which focuses on the development, improvement and maintenance of the Town's trees, park system, public grounds, school grounds, beaches, recreation areas, cemeteries, turf fields, and all other public grounds. Serves as Tree Warden with the powers and duties conferred by Connecticut General Statutes Chapter 451 §23-59. Functions as a key member of the Park and Recreation Department's executive management team, and reports to the Director of the Parks & Recreation Department.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in ornamental horticulture, landscape architecture, arboriculture, or related field.
Eight (8) years of related management experience preferably overseeing the operation and maintenance of parks and related facilities, including at least five (5) years of experience supervising staff.
A Connecticut Arborist's License, or attainment within 6 months from date of appointment.
