THE CITY OF HENDERSON ANNOUNCES AN EXAMINATION TO CREATE AN ELIGIBILITY LIST AND TO FILL ONE (1) VACANCY FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF RECREATION SERVICES MANAGER IN THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT. THE ELIGIBILITY LIST MAY BE UTILIZED TO FILL VACANCIES FOR THIS CLASSIFICATION FOR UP TO ONE (1) YEAR.
Under general supervision, develops, plans, manages and coordinates the delivery and execution of comprehensive entertainment, special event, recreation and aquatics programs, services and related activities; manages the staff, operations and maintenance of City facilities, venues and related amenities; assures that safe and appropriate entertainment, special events, recreation and aquatics programs are provided for the community; and performs related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Parks and Recreation Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
Five (5) years of experience in development, organization, and operation of a variety of recreation programs and facilities, including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483.
Incumbent may be required to obtain specific technical certifications.
National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA): Parks and Certifications: Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP), Certified Parks and Recreation Executive (CPRE), Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP), Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO), Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI).
National Therapeutic Recreation Society (NTRS): Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
