GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Director, the position will develop and implements a comprehensive marketing plan. Will work collaboratively with Park and Administrative leadership to coordinate marketing programs and events. Will be responsible that all marketing programs meet quality, brand compliance and Metroparks standards. Will develop strategic marketing partnerships with businesses and community organizations that support the Metroparks marketing efforts and assists in gaining outside exposure. Will create and develop relationships with peers in targeted organizations. Responsible for directing and overseeing marketing goals, implementing tracking and benchmarking of marketing programs/events, and communication of all marketing related activities.
Will communicate economic and business trends to forecast the effect of trends on HCMA’s business and revenues and adapt strategies to market conditions.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, parks and recreation, or related field, Master’s degree preferred. Applicants with 8 or more years of related service will be given credit toward meeting the minimum educational requirements and will be considered for the position.
5 years demonstrated marketing experience with at least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
Experience in development and effective management of budgets.
Knowledge of parks and recreation agencies, organizations and/or programs.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, filing and record management systems, computer applications such as word processing, data base programs and spreadsheets, and other office procedures.
Ability to effectively delegate authority and responsibility while maintaining appropriate levels of operational control.
Ability to make strategic decisions pertaining to staff and procedures.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with the Board, the public, outside agencies and employees.
Ability to work under stressful conditions and varied hours including weekends and holidays, depending upon marketing events and programs.
Ability to travel locally, and statewide.
Ability to implement new initiatives and demonstrate creativity.
May be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs, including special events, evenings, weekends & holidays.
Ability to perform essential duties.
