Under the direction of the Aquatics Managers, the Assistant Aquatics Managers will assists in the daily facility operations and maintenance of Liberty Lagoon Water Park and of various aquatics programs and ensures the safety of the staff and guests.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Disseminates positive and informative responses to public inquiries regarding programs, facilities, policies, procedures and staff / public complaints.
Assist and coordinates the day to day operation including but not limited to: recruitment, training, scheduling, certification, cleaning, and performance of employees.
Assist with facility programming information development and transmission, meeting deadlines and brochure development for programs and special events.
Assists with development, implementation of aquatics programs for the citizens of this parish.
Participates in and teaches water certification training and swimming lessons for all ages.
Assist with cleanliness, climate control, and pool water chemistry and related maintenance, in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, policies, and guidelines for the operation of public swimming pools.
Represents the organization at various community and business meetings, promotes existing and new programs and /or policies.
Develops and maintains records of operational facilities usage; monitors and maintains inventories of pool equipment, cleaning supplies, kitchen, and pool supplies.
Working knowledge of operating a concession stand, ordering and cooking.
Secondary Job Duties:
Acts in absence of the Aquatics Manager
Skills in program planning and development.
Budgeting, cost estimating, process invoices, payroll, and fiscal management and procedures. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and 2-year college degree
Area of Study (major) Required: Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field; experience in aquatics events, programming and/or facility management.
Certification(s) Required: Certified Lifeguard & Certified Lifeguard Instructor; Water Safety Instructor Certification, First Aid & CPR certification; Certified Pool Operator to be obtained within one year.
License(s) Required: Valid LA driver 's License and must be able to obtain a Chauffer 's License within 6 months of hire.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: Minimum three (3) years working in aquatic programming, training and facility management, concessions operations or related experience.
Other Job Specifications:
Considerable knowledge of aquatics and recreation philosophy, operating, scheduling, planning and administration.
Considerable knowledge of the pool/pump equipment, facilities, kitchen operations and techniques used in a parish wide aquatics and recreation programs.
Ability to interview, hire, supervise and train lifeguards at several facilities, develop and implement various aquatic programs.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, and the public.
Basic mathematical skills to maintain revenue and expenses concerning aquatics programs.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing and complete daily reports
Experience performing general maintenance repairs on site as needed
Assist outdoor recreation with water and related programming, special events, community programs, and outdoor activities during the off season
General knowledge of BREC rules and regulations for properties and activities for operating pools/facilities.
