Coordinators support the Youth Division by performing duties related to the creation, planning, and execution of programs and activities of the division.
In order to excel in the position, Coordinators will:
Demonstrate excellent understanding of the structure and functionality of the division’s processes and programs, executing according to standards
Possess good problem-solving skills, be resourceful and take initiative
Work both independently and in teams
Be organized in their work to ensure that areas of focus are completed efficiently and with care
Utilize excellent communication skills and professionalism when administering programs Responsibilities:
Coordinate basketball development programs and safety awareness initiatives
Liaise with youth organizations and youth basketball stakeholders to align with relevant Youth Division programs
Organize, operate and elevate Youth Division programs and events
Effectively communicate with third-party providers and vendors
Coordinate programs and events with other internal departments
Provide support and information to serve the youth basketball community
Offer exceptional customer service to USA Basketball stakeholders, participants, affiliates and event attendees
Take part in email and call campaigns to market and promote Youth Division programs
May require periodic domestic travel to fulfill duties of position
Additional duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in sports management or a closely related field required, Master’s degree preferred, from an accredited college or university
Professional experience and knowledge of youth basketball levels in the United States
Passion and enthusiasm for youth basketball and non-profit missions
Event coordination experience including youth tournaments, camps and clinics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in basic computer skills and demonstrated social media savvy
Experience within national governing bodies under the United States Olympic Committee a plus

About USA Basketball Youth Division
Based in Colorado Springs, Colo., USA Basketball is a nonprofit organization and the national governing body for basketball in the United States as recognized by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). USA Basketball is responsible for the selection, training and fielding of USA teams that compete in FIBA-sponsored international basketball competitions, as well as for some national competitions, and is also responsible for youth and sport development initiatives that address player development and sport participation, safety issues, coach education, coach licensing and basketball events.
